It\'s great to watch our new Doctor doing her thing as we kick off our Series 11 reviews. Was it all worth the wait and hype or are we in the familiar territory of first episode mania?\n\nThank you so much for joining us for 205. Big Blue Box Podcast - Episode 204

Welcome to Episode 204...\nThe News\n\nSeries 13 gets its Sunday evening time slot confirmed and our friends in Canada also get their broadcast time confirmed.\n\nMerch Corner\n\nA new 4th Doctor audio adventure is on the way from the BBC and the 13th Doctor is making an appearance in the Eaglemoss figurine magazine.\n\n"The Tenth Planet" Review\n\nWe thought it would be fitting to do a Hartnell story for two reasons; one, we haven\'t done a Hartnell story in ages and two, it seems fitting to go back and look at his farewell story just before we say hello to the 13th Doctor. Lots of snow, bad American accents and those awesome Mondasian Cybermen. All good or is this one a bit cold?\n\nThank you so much for joining us for 204. Next week we\'ll finally reviewing the first episode from series 11 - The Woman Who Fell to Earth! Until then have a brilliant week and until next time - Allons-y!'

Are we just as happy with this story that kicks off Series 2 or does a Sontaran in SJA turn out to be too much for our Attic Crew to handle?\n\nThank you so much for joining us for 203. Next week for episode 204 we\'re travelling to visit the 1st Doctor story - The Tenth Planet. Until then have a fantastic week, do something Doctor Who related and until next time - Allons-y!'

Does this one live up to the grand majesty of its title or does it flop, like a belly flop into a widely know pool somewhere in the TARDIS?\n\nThank you so much for joining us for 202. Next week for episode 203 we\'re heading back to The Sarah Jane Adventures as we kick off the Series 2 story - The Last Sontaran. Until then have a great week and until next time - Allons-y!'

Welcome to Episode 201...\nThe News\n\nWe finally have an airdate for series 11 with a move to Sunday nights, our Australian friends will get the series 11 opener in cinemas, sadly actor Peter Benson (Bor in Terminus) has passed away and we\'ve got some info on that K-9 movie that disappeared.\n\nMerch Corner\n\nThe 4K UHD release of Twice Upon a Time can now be ordered in the UK, the 13th Doctor is coming to the Mr Men/Little Miss universe with a new story and on the subject of the Hargreaves characters, all 13 Doctors will be released in a collection in early 2019.\n\nTorchwood "Small Worlds" Review\n\nContinuing our plough through series 1, Small Worlds is a "fairy" odd story with some dark tones that we\'ve come to expect from Torchwood so far. Likey or stinky?\n\nThank you so much for joining us for 201. Our review story next week is the Eleventh Doctor story - Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS (we were meant to review this last month but we had to cancel that ep). Until then have a great week and until next time - Allons-y!'

Big Blue Box Podcast - Episode 200

Welcome to Episode 200...\n \nWe made it to 200!\n\nWow, where has the time gone?! Back in 2014, we had no idea that our show would last this long and how it would progress in an already growing area of Who podcasts. I\'m thrilled with the community we\'ve built and able to share the good times with you all. Over the last 200 hundred shows, we\'ve reviewed a ton of Who (and there\'s lots of classic Who left to do!), put together an awesome writing team who put out great articles each week, travelled to plenty of conventions and met lots of you plus we\'ve interviewed some great people involved in the show.\n\nA huge huge huge thank you to all of you who take the time each week to listen to our crazy waffle and rantings. Whether you\'ve been with us since the early days or you jumped onboard last week - we wouldn\'t carry on doing it if there was no one to listen to us. Any interaction you\'ve had with us, be it as a listener, chatted with us on the socials, sent in a review etc, you make it all worthwhile. For that, again, Adam and I want to send you all a massive thank you and here\'s to the next 200 shows! Ready... Aaaaaaaaaaaaaallons-y!\n\nThe News\n\nWe kick off with the sad news of Production Designer Michael Pickwoad and Jaqueline Pearce have passed away but then some happier news of our friends in South Africa getting a special Who experience at the first Africa Comic Con.\n\nMerch Corner\n\nThe BBC continue their retro audio releases with the Dalek Audio Annual, we gush over the upcoming K-9 figure from Robert Harrop, Paul McGann and Sheridan Smith are reuniting for more audio adventures as The Doctor and Lucie Miller at Big Finish and Titan Comics reveal more covers and details for their upcoming 13th Doctor run.\n\n"Earthshock" Review\n\nSo we, er, forgot that we did a Davison story recently (Ep197 - Snakedance) but what the hey, more Fifth Doctor action is never a bad thing and so we get stuck into a bit of a milestone for the show with the first (proper) death of a companion. Adric gets bumped off but what about the rest of the story? A decent Cyberman revival or is it "shock"ing?\n\nThank you so much for joining us for 200. Next week for episode 201 we\'re reviewing the Torchwood story - Small Worlds. Until then have a great week and until next time - Allons-y!'

Welcome to Episode 199...\n \nThe News\n\nThe DWAS kick-off the fundraising for the Hartnell Heritage Plaque and a bunch of new writers and directors announced for Series 11.\n\nMerch Corner\n\nMoody Dalek Tat this week brings us... Big Finish announce their 20th Anniversary celebrations with upcoming special releases across 2019 and 2010, Series 19 is getting the restoration and blu ray set treatment, last year\'s The Sarah Jane Adventures convention The Attic is coming to dvd and blu ray and Character finally put up the Bill Potts figure from a lifetime ago.\n\n"The Lost Boy" Review\n\nWe\'ve come to the end of Series 1 of the SJA and it\'s been amazing so far. Adam and I have loved watching these, most of them for the first time. Does this series closer round off the series nicely or are we left feeling a little, er, lost?\n\nThank you for joining us for 199. Next week it\'s our 200th episode! Our review will be the Fifth Doctor\'s story - Earthshock. Have a great week and until next time - Allons-y!'

Happy smiles or floods of tears?\n\nThank you for joining us for 198. It\'s the Eleventh Doctor\'s turn next week with Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS. We haven\'t reviewed a Davison story for a while so good to spend some time with this Tardis crew. What are we thinking though? Hit or missssss?\n\nThank you for joining us for 197. It\'s Torchwood\'s turn next week with Cyberwoman. Have a great week and until next time - Allons-y!'

Review\n\nA little bit of back story for our super-detective Sarah Jane this week accompanied by a very shady alien. Does our journey through the SJA happily continue or are we tricked into a dud?\n\nThank you for joining us for 196. Next week it\'s classic Who and the Fifth Doctor is back for Snakedance. We up for this or do we wish the black hole would swallow us up?\n\nThank you for joining us for 195. Next week we jump back to the SJA with What Ever Happened to Sarah Jane? McCoy\'s first run around the block certainly divides opinion but how does this series finale hold up? Voted as McCoy\'s most popular story around the time of the 40th anniversary, do we concur or are we left hanging. Literally?\n\nThank you for joining us for 194. We\'ve been big fans of SJA thus far so does this one keep the momentum going or are we fooled into a false sense of security like Kudlak and his AI Mistress?\n\nThank you for joining us for 193. Next week it\'s classic Who and the Seventh Doctor is back for Dragonfire. Have a grrrrrrreat week and until next time - Allons-y!'

An enjoyable one or are we watching through the gaps in our fingers?\n\nThank you for joining us for 192. Next week we\'re back to The Sarah Jane Adventuress and Warriors of Kudlak. It\'s wizardry and superstition vs science in this series 14 four-parter. We into this or are we pulled down by Mandragora Helix energy?\n\nThank you for joining us for 190. This one isn\'t so much about Hitler but more about River (thank you Moff \xf0\x9f\x99\x84) so does it entertain like a sweet melody or get drowned out by story arc faff.\n\nThank you for joining us for 188. It\'s a solo Garry outing for our last show this year so without further ado...\n\n\nGarry is flying solo this week as Adam has already departed for his Christmas travels and it\'s also a different format than usual, partly due to no decent news or merch at the time of recording. So on this week\'s show:\n\nWhat has Garry been up to, the year in review for Doctor Who in general and the podcast, Q&A and plans for 2018.\n\nAs it\'s the last show of 2017 I\'d like to get soppy if I may and say that this year has been another brilliant year for us and that\'s all down to you. It would be a pretty rubbish show if we didn\'t hear back from you or converse with you on the interwebs about Who. McCoy is has joined the cast of children\'s show Sarah and Duck. Unfortunately Classic Who actor Scott Fredericks has passed away aged 74. Lastly, we\'re looking forward to a preview of Twice Upon a Time during this years Children in Need show.\n\nMerch Corner\n\nDalek Tat throws us this week - a gorgeous new 7th Doctor Collector\'s Edition gets a German release next month (see your article on that here), Koch Media have released their next The Doctors DVD - The William Hartnell Years, speaking of the First Doctor David Bradley is the cover for this month\'s Doctor Who Magazine and there\'s a new board game that\'s just launched called Time of the Daleks.\n\n"The TV Movie" Review\n\nAnother Marmite story this one. The first time round we gave it respectable scores (a 7 and an 8) as we\'re actually fans of the movie, especially it\'s soundtrack and of course, McGann as The Doctor. Big Blue Box Podcast - Episode 160

Hey Who fans. Hope you\'re all splendid as always? News, merch and our review of Terminus.

    \nThe News\n

Hate kicking off with sad news but we say goodbye to Trevor Martin who has passed away at the age of 87. Trevor played one of the Time Lords in Troughton\'s last story The War Games and then more famously went on to play The Doctor in the stage play Doctor Who and the Daleks in the Seven Keys to Doomsday. We also discuss a story regarding Series 11 episode count and run time.

    \nMerch Corner\n

That grumpy Dalek throws us this week - the upcoming 1st Doctor Funko Pop! is now up for pre-order, a new NYCC glow in the dark TARDIS from Titan and the unfinished 4th Doctor story Shada is getting the remaster/animation treatment.

    \n"Terminus" Review\n

Classic week is bringing us the 5th Doctor story Terminus. It\'s good to be spending time with Mr Davison as it\'s been a while but does this one provide more good Black Guardian action or does it drag on, and on, and on, and on?

    \n

Thank you for lending us your ears for another week and for sending in your reviews. Next week it\'s the 11th Doctor\'s turn for our review of The Power of Three so get those dvds/blu rays out! Until then have a great week and remember - Allons-y!

Big Blue Box Podcast - Episode 159

Hey Who fans. After a crackin\' week of tracking down the latest Doctor Who Magazine and keeping Dalek Tat in check, we\'re light on news but a few merch items then onto our goodbye review for Mr Eccleston - The Parting of the Ways.

    \nThe News\n

Fans of the mobile turn based game Legacy from Tiny Rebel Games Ltd will be pleased to know they have announced a new game called Doctor Who Infinity which will be available early next year.

    \nMerch Corner\n

That grumpy Dalek throws us this week - two new 10th Doctor Short Trips from Big Finish, The Daemons of Devil\'s End get\'s a paperback signing event and BBC Worldwide announce the Series 10 blu ray boxset will be available on 13th November (so no Xmas Special included) for RRP PS35.99.

\n"The Parting of the Ways" Review\n

It had to come at some point but we didn\'t want it to. We\'ve reached the end of our reviews for the 9th Doctor. Sad faces all round. Do we end on a high and praise the hard work of Chris, Billie, Russell and Julie (plus many more) or is it one of those finales?

    \n

Thank you as always for listening and sending in your reviews. It\'s back to Classic Who next week for the 5th Doctor\'s story Terminus and we\'d love to hear your thoughts on it. Until then have a fantastic week and remember - Allons-y!

Hey Who fans. We hope you\'re all well? This week has some Bessie news, plenty of merch and then our review of the 9th Doctor\'s story - Bad Wolf.

    \nThe News\n

Bessie is not going into storage after a long stint at the now closed Doctor Who Experience. Instead she\'s off to go on display at the Motor Museum in Beaulieu, Hampshire.

    \nMerch Corner\n

Dalek Tat this week brings us; a couple of unofficial books from Steve Cambden and his time on the show working in effects, The Tom Baker Years dvd is now on sale, the long waited The Memoir of Sydney Newman will be with us next month and two new alternate commentaries are released from Fantom Films.

    \n"Bad Wolf" Review\n

It had to happen one day. Yes, we\'ve started that sad walk into our final reviews for Chris Eccleston\'s time as The Doctor. We\'re looking at the series one finale part one - Bad Wolf. Dated TV references (for some), suspense, deaths, naked Captain Jack, transmats and surprises this episode has it all. Are we gripped to this final story or does the disc get swiftly evicted from our blu ray/dvd players?

    \n

Thank you so much for listening as always! Next week we finish off our 9th Doctor reviews with The Parting of the Ways (sniff sniff) so get your reviews ready. Until then have a fantastic week and remember - Allons-y!

    \nThe News\n

    \nMerch Corner\n

Our grumpy metal friend Dalek Tat throw us an upcoming novel by James Goss and his treatment of Douglas Adams\' story Doctor Who and the Krikketmen, a new "premium" A5 notebook is on the way and you can bag a signed A4 2018 calendar signed by Gordon Archer.

    \n"The Horns of Nimon" Review\n

Series 17, a troubled time for Tom Baker\'s era with flailing budgets and not much love overall, can this story provide a nice surprise? We talk through everything but what about that score?

    \n

Thank you so much for listening and for sending in your reviews. Next week we start the conclusion of our 9th Doctor reviews with Bad Wolf so get those dvds/blu rays out for your reviews. Until then have a fantastic week and remember - Allons-y!

Big Blue Box Podcast - Episode 156

Hey Who fans. It\'s Ep156 and while news is in tumbleweed mode we do have a few merch items plus our review of Capaldi\'s The Caretaker.

    \nThe News\n

    No news this week.

    \nMerch Corner\n

The series 10 complete box set details released, another 2018 calendar and an awesome looking 1st Doctor Funko Pop! is on the way.

    \n"The Caretaker" Review\n

This is the last Capaldi story pre-series 10 for us to review. It\'s funny and emotional but is this often viewed "middle of the road" story enough for us to move up from that 5 score?

    \n

Thank you Who fans for listening and your thoughts. Next week it\'s the 4th Doctor\'s turn with The Horns of Nimon so get that watched. Until then have a brill week and remember - Allons-y!
